RWA (Real-World Asset)

A physical or traditional financial asset (like property or bonds) represented as a token on a blockchain.

RWA (real-world asset) tokenisation means representing something that exists outside crypto — property, bonds, commodities, invoices — as a token on a blockchain. The goal is usually to make an otherwise illiquid or hard-to-divide asset easier to trade, transfer, or use within crypto systems.

The token itself is only ever as reliable as the legal and custodial arrangement backing it: owning a token that claims to represent a real-world asset is not automatically the same as owning the asset itself, and verifying that underlying arrangement is a genuinely important (and often overlooked) due diligence step.
